Questions

How do I use the crossword solver?

Type the word as it stands in the grid: the letters you know in their places, and ? for each square still empty. C?O?S finds every five-letter word with C first, O third and S last.

How do I type the missing letters?

A ? for each one. A dot, a dash, an underscore or a space works too, so C.O.S and C_O_S find the same words.

Can it solve a crossword clue?

It finds the words that fit the squares. Read down the list with the clue in mind: the common words come first and are usually the answer.

Can I rule out letters?

Add them under Leave out: a letter you have ruled out never appears in a missing square.

Which words does it know?

From a dictionary of about 170,000 English words, 2 to 15 letters, the words word games accept, with slurs and abusive words left out.
