What a word solver does

A word solver turns a handful of letters into every word they can spell. It is the quickest help when a game gives you letters and asks for words: a rack of tiles, a letter wheel, a jumble, a gap in a crossword or the last tries of a daily five-letter game.

Every word here comes from one dictionary, ordered by how common it is, so the words you are likeliest to need come first in each group.

What is a word solver?

A word solver finds the words your letters make. Type the letters a game gives you and it lists every word, longest first, the common words before the rare ones.

About 170,000 English words of 2 to 15 letters: the words word games accept, from the open ENABLE list and SCOWL, with slurs and abusive words left out.

What is the difference between unscrambling and anagrams?

The unscrambler lists every word your letters make, of any length. The anagram solver lists only the words that use all of them, each exactly once.

Can I use blank tiles?

Yes: type ? for a blank tile or an unknown letter, up to two. ?AT finds bat, cat, hat and every other word of that shape.

Do I need an account?
