Questions

What counts as a character?

Every letter, digit, space and punctuation mark counts as one character. The count without spaces leaves out spaces, tabs and line breaks.

Which limits does it show?

The counter shows the text against common limits: 160 characters for a text message or a page description, 280 for a short post, 60 for a page title.

Is my text saved anywhere?

No: the text stays in your browser and is counted there. Nothing is sent or stored.
