Combo (Netflix Puzzled): How to Play the Word Chain Game
Combo is the word-chain puzzle in Netflix Puzzled. A column of unsolved words runs down the screen; each word joins the next into a new word or phrase (SNOW and BALL make SNOWBALL), and the puzzle's title hints at the first word and the last. The first letter of each word is given, and the rest is typed.

The rules
A chain, the first letters given
A chain of words, each with its first letter or letters shown. The title, "Winter strategy", connects to the first word and to the last.

Each word joins its neighbours
Each word joins the one above it and the one below it: SNOW + BALL, BALL + GAME, GAME + PLAN. Solving one word gives you half of the next.
Letters are marked as you type
Type a word and its letters are marked: in place, in the word but elsewhere, or not in it. In the app the colours are green, yellow and grey; here, blue with a tick, a ring, and grey.
A picture is a word
A picture in the chain stands for a whole word, HOUSE here: FIREHOUSE, HOUSEBOAT. Tap it to see its word.

Where to play, and the controls
- Open Netflix Puzzled on iOS or Android, or in a browser at netflix.com/tudum/puzzled. No account is needed.
- Type the letters of the current word on the keyboard; the marks show which are right. Tap a picture to read its word.
- The lightbulb reveals the next letter of the word you are on.
Combo tips: close the chain faster
Read the title both ways
The title is a clue to the first and the last word. Read it twice: once for the opening, once for the ending the chain is heading to.
Solve from both sides
A word in the middle must fit both neighbours. When two words fit the one above, the one below decides.
Think compounds and phrases
Compound words (SNOWBALL) and two-word phrases (GAME PLAN) both count. If a compound will not come, try a phrase.
Move the ringed letters
A ringed letter belongs in the word somewhere else. Move it before guessing new letters.
Hint the word that blocks the chain
If you are stuck on one word, take the hint there rather than guessing: one letter usually settles a short word.

What do the colours mean in Combo?
