Wordsmith Game (Netflix Puzzled): How to Play, Rules and Tips
Wordsmith is the word-tracing puzzle in Netflix Puzzled. Trace words through a grid of letter tiles, each letter touching the next. Every tile has a point value, and longer words earn a bonus on top, so the aim is not just to find words but to find the ones worth most. Stuck? Our words with these letters finder shows what a set of letters can make.

The rules
Trace through touching tiles
A word is a chain of tiles, each touching the next: side by side or diagonally. STAR runs along the top row.
- ✓ Right
Turn as you like, one tile once
The chain may turn and go diagonal, PLANT here, but a tile is used once per word.
Every tile has a value
The small number on a tile is its value. MIKE scores 7: the K alone is worth 3. Rare letters pay.
Longer words earn more
Longer words earn a bonus on top of their tiles. RED scores 4; PLANT, five letters, scores 7.
From the first word to the best score
A 4 by 4 board of our own, its three best words:
STAR along the top: 4 points
PLANT through the middle, five letters: 7 points
MIKE round the K: 7 points. The board's best words found

Wordsmith tips: more points per word
Build round the valuable tiles
The tiles worth 3 or 4 are the ones to build round. A word through the K is worth more than a longer word of 1-point letters.
Stretch words with endings
Every letter past the fourth adds to the bonus. Before submitting a four-letter word, look for an S, an ED or an ING that extends it.
Rotate when you are stuck
If the board looks empty of words, rotate it. The same letters read differently from another side.
Remember the diagonals
Diagonal moves open chains that rows and columns hide. Trace with your eye in all eight directions from a strong letter.
Find the vowel with the most neighbours
Vowels are the hinges. A vowel with many neighbours sits in the middle of the longest words; start your tracing there.
