Crossover Game (Netflix Puzzled): How to Play, Rules and Tips
Crossover is the crossword with a twist in Netflix Puzzled: the grid is already full, but its letters are in the wrong places. Read the clues for each row and column and swap tiles until every row and column spells the word its clue asks for. A tile in its right place locks, so the grid gets easier as you go.
- A full grid, shuffled
- Swap tiles
- Right tiles lock
The rules
A full grid, the clues beside it
The grid starts full of letters, shuffled. Each row and each column has a clue; the clue bar at the bottom shows them one by one, with the row or column it belongs to.
Swap two tiles
Drag a tile onto another to swap the two. Only swaps move letters; nothing is typed.
- ✓ Right
Right letters lock
A letter that lands in its right place turns solved and locks; it cannot be moved again. Locked letters tell you which clues are done.
A picture is a word
Some tiles show a picture instead of a letter. The picture stands for a whole word, as in a rebus; tap it to see which word.
From the shuffled grid to the words
A 3 by 3 grid of our own, two swaps from solved:
Shuffled: TAB, IEC, TEN. Across: Flying mammal; Frozen water; Twice five
Swap the T and the B: BAT across, and the first column, BIT, locks with it
Swap the E and the C: ICE across, ACE and TEN down. Solved
Where to play, and the controls
- Open Netflix Puzzled on iOS or Android, or in a browser at netflix.com/tudum/puzzled. No account is needed.
- Tap the arrows on the clue bar to read each clue; it names the row or column it is for. Drag a tile over another to swap them.
- Solved tiles turn and lock. The lightbulb places one random tile where it belongs.
Crossover tips: fewer swaps, faster locks
Start with the clue you know
A clue you are sure of fixes a whole row or column at once. Solve it first and its letters lock, which cuts the possible swaps for everything else.
Rare letters go first
Every tile belongs somewhere. If a Q is on the board, find the clue whose answer has a Q, and you know where that tile goes.
Check both clues at a crossing
Each letter sits at a crossing of a row and a column. A letter that satisfies both clues at once is in its place; one that fits only the row is not.
Make swaps that lock two tiles
A swap moves two letters. Choose the one that puts both in their right places, and two tiles lock for one move.
Read the pictures
Tap a picture tile to read its word, then treat it as that word's letters when you check the row or column.
