LinkedIn Patches invite
What is a Patches invite on LinkedIn?
A Patches invite on LinkedIn is a challenge from a connection to play today's Patches, the daily logic puzzle, sent as LinkedIn's invite notification, usually right after they solved it. That is all it means: it opens the same free puzzle every player gets, so you can compare times. It is not a separate game or a paid feature, and the invitation lasts until midnight Pacific Time, when a new Patches arrives.
- Free
- Today's puzzle only
- Nothing happens if you ignore it
How a Patches invite works
A connection solves it
They cover today's grid with patches, and LinkedIn shows their time.
They send it to you
From the result screen, they share the puzzle with you as a challenge.
You open the same Patches
The invite opens today's grid, the one every player gets. Draw the patches as usual.
You compare times
When you finish, you see who was faster, and you can pass it on yourself.
Do people invite you to play Patches on LinkedIn?
Yes. A Patches invite comes from a connection who played today's Patches and shared it from the result screen. It reaches you because someone you know chose to send it, and nothing happens if you do not play.
What is Patches on LinkedIn?
LinkedIn's daily grid of rectangles: every patch holds exactly one clue, takes the size or shape its clue gives, and together the patches cover every cell, never overlapping. Everyone gets the same puzzle each day (how to play Patches).
Is it safe?
An invite is LinkedIn's own feature. If a message looks odd, check that it comes from someone you know and that it opens linkedin.com/games. A Patches invite never asks for a payment or a password.
When it runs out
The invitation is for one day's puzzle. At midnight Pacific Time it stops being playable and a new Patches replaces it (when do LinkedIn games reset).
Invites in the other games
The same challenge comes for other LinkedIn games: the Zip invite ("You've got an invite"), the Wend invite and the Queens invite.
