Patches tips that solve it faster
Start in the corners
A corner cell can only belong to a clue that can reach it, and often only one can.
Draw the big numbers first
A large patch has few places it fits without swallowing another clue.
Watch the cells between clues
A cell two clues can both reach goes to the one whose patch still fits.
Count what is left
The patches add up to the whole grid, so the last free cells belong to the clues still open beside them.
