Bakery Sudoku
A food puzzle game online, free: a picture sudoku with breads, cakes and pastries in place of numbers, and every row, column and box needs each of them once. Easy is a 4x4 sudoku of four bakes, medium and hard a 9x9 tray, and each press of a level bakes a new board, with notes and a hint when something will not rise.
How to solve bakery sudoku
The last bake left
For one empty square, rule out every bake its row, column and box already hold, the donut, the pretzel, the waffle. If one remains, it goes in.
A spot for the croissant
Pick one bake, the croissant, and one box. A square is out if its row or column already has a croissant. When one square is left, the croissant goes there.
Half-baked? Hint shows the next square and which bake goes in it.
The bakes
Twenty-four breads, cakes and pastries, drawn for this game: loaves and buns, a croissant and a pretzel, a cupcake and a donut, an apple strudel and a macaron. Most are a baked brown, so more pairs than in the other sets are kept apart, the loaf and the round loaf among them.

Questions
What is bakery sudoku?
A food sudoku with breads, cakes and pastries in place of numbers. Each row, column and box holds every bake once: four on the 4 × 4, nine on the 9 × 9.
Does it play like sudoku?
Yes, exactly. The macaron stands where an 8 would, and the rule is unchanged. Medium and hard are full 9 × 9 sudokus.
Why do the loaf and the bun never meet?
Many bakes are the same warm brown, the loaf, the round loaf and the bun, or the croissant and the palmier, and at the size of a square they look alike. The game keeps them on separate boards, so every bake is easy to tell apart.
Can a bakery sudoku have two solutions?
No. Each board is made when you press its level and kept only when the bakes fit one way.
What if I get stuck?
Press Hint. It lights the next square and names the bake that belongs there, pointing first to any bake in the wrong square.
