Bug Sudoku
A bug puzzle game online, free: a picture sudoku with bugs in place of numbers, and every row, column and box needs each of them once. Easy is a 4x4 sudoku of four bugs, medium and hard a 9x9 garden of them, and every press of a level brings a new board, with notes and a hint when you are stuck.
How to solve bug sudoku
Only one bug fits
For one empty square, rule out the ladybug, the ant and every other bug its row, column and box already hold. A single bug left is the answer.
Where can the ladybug land
Pick one bug, the ladybug, and one box. Strike every square whose row or column already has a ladybug. If one square is left, the ladybug goes there.

The bugs
Twenty-four bugs, drawn for this game: insects such as the honeybee, the dragonfly and the stag beetle, with a spider, a scorpion, a snail, a woodlouse, a millipede and an earthworm, which are bugs only in the everyday sense. Look-alikes, the bee, the wasp and the bumblebee, never share a board.

Questions
What is bug sudoku?
A sudoku with bugs in place of numbers. Each row, column and box holds every bug once: four on the 4 × 4, nine on the 9 × 9.
Is it a proper sudoku?
Yes. The rule is the sudoku rule, with a bug where each digit would be; the firefly is as good as a 1. Medium and hard are full 9 × 9 sudokus.
Why are the bee and the wasp never on one board?
Striped yellow and black, the bee, the wasp and the bumblebee look the same at the size of a square, and so do the grasshopper and the cricket. The game keeps them on separate boards, so every bug is easy to tell apart.
Does each bug sudoku have one answer?
Yes. A board is made when you press a level and kept only if the bugs fit one way.
What if I get stuck?
Press Hint. It lights the next square and names the bug that goes there, pointing first to any bug in the wrong place.
