How to play bird sudoku

Pick an empty square. Its row, column and box are lit.
See which birds already sit there. The bird that none of them has lands in your square.
Tap it among the birds below the board. A wrong bird turns the square red.
Fill the board: every row, column and box ends with each bird once.

How to solve bird sudoku

The bird still flying

For one empty square, rule out every bird its row, column and box already show, the parrot, the owl, the penguin. If one bird is left, it lands there.

A perch for the toucan

Take one bird, the toucan, and one row. A square is out if its column or box already has a toucan. When a single square is left, the toucan goes there.

What is bird sudoku?

A sudoku with birds in place of numbers. Each row, column and box holds every bird once: four on the 4 × 4 board, nine on the 9 × 9.

How is bird sudoku different from sudoku?

Only the symbols. A bird stands where a digit would, so the rule and every technique carry over. Medium and hard are full 9 × 9 sudokus.

Why are the goose, the swan and the stork never together?

All three are long-necked white birds, and at the size of a square they look the same; the hen and the quail are as close. The game keeps them on separate boards, so every bird is easy to name.

Is every bird sudoku solvable one way only?

Yes. The board is made when you press a level and kept only if the birds fit in exactly one way.

What if I get stuck?

Press Hint. It shows the next square, the bird that belongs there and why, and points first to any bird in the wrong square.
