Music Sudoku
A music puzzle game online, free: a musical sudoku with instruments in place of numbers, and every row, column and box needs each of them once. A 4x4 sudoku on easy, a 9x9 orchestra on medium and hard, a new board with each press of a level, and notes and a hint when the music stops.
How to solve music sudoku
The instrument not yet heard
For one empty square, rule out each instrument its row, column and box already hold, the harp, the guitar, the accordion. If only one is left, it plays there.
A seat for the piano
Choose one instrument, the piano, and one row. Any square whose column or box already has a piano is out. One square left: the piano sits there.
Out of tune? Hint shows the next square and which instrument it needs.
The instruments
Twenty-four musical instruments, drawn for this game: strings like the violin and the harp, brass like the trumpet and the tuba, woodwind like the flute and the clarinet, and drums, maracas and a xylophone. Look-alikes, the violin and the cello, or the trumpet and the trombone, never share a board.

Questions
What is music sudoku?
A musical sudoku: instruments in place of numbers, each once in every row, column and box. Four instruments on the 4 × 4, nine on the 9 × 9.
Do I need to read music?
Not a note. The instruments are only symbols: the rule is the sudoku rule, and the saxophone counts like a 6. Medium and hard are full 9 × 9 sudokus.
Why are the violin and the cello never together?
At the size of a square, the cello is a violin drawn bigger, and the trumpet, the trombone and the French horn are all bent brass. The game keeps them on separate boards, so every instrument is easy to name.
Is there one right way to fill it?
Yes. The board is made when you press a level and kept only if the instruments fit one way.
What if I get stuck?
Press Hint. It shows the next square, the instrument that belongs there and why, after pointing to any instrument in the wrong square.
